Managing Director and founder of TUNDRA Resource Analytics, Laura is a CPA-qualified accountant with experience in the world’s largest mining companies across a diverse breadth of operational and corporate roles.

She has a reputation for being a diligent project manager, insightful business analyst and skilled financial modeller. Laura has a successful track record of compassionately leading change, including post-transaction integration, separation and business transformation activities. Clients benefit from Laura’s extensive business and ERP knowledge, financial experience and the strength of her stakeholder engagement skills.

Sam Penglis

With over twenty years in Operations, Sam brings a wealth of experience in production, strategy, and leadership, with a strong background in minerals processing, M&A due diligence, value chain optimisation, and productivity improvement.

A highly accomplished senior consultant and chemical engineer, Sam brings over 23 years of experience in complex minerals processing and integrated operations at BHP.

With end-to-end value chain expertise from mine to market, Sam has delivered results across M&A due diligence, operational readiness, decarbonisation, project management, asset integration, and major capital asset commissioning.

Recognised for a unique blend of technical leadership, commercial acumen, and stakeholder engagement,  Sam is frequently called upon to address complex production challenges, leveraging his deep technical expertise, strategic insight, project management skills and strong ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Scott Jeffery

Scott has more than eighteen years’ experience in surface and underground mining operations across a range of commodities, with proven ability to excel in complex operating environments.

A geotechnical engineer by profession, Scott adopts an entrepreneurial approach and has extensive experience in operating system implementation and process improvement. TUNDRA clients seek out Scott for transformational leadership & project management, operations planning, crisis management and business value optimisation.

Felicity Jeffery

Felicity is a leading change, crisis, and communications advisor, with over 15 years’ experience developing and leading high performing, value-focused communications teams. In this time, Felicity has been exposed to a multitude of clients across varied sectors and has led teams to deliver on key change and communication challenges for global organisations such as Toyota Motor Corporation Australia, Qatar Airways and South32. 

Having been heavily influential in the strategic development and implementation of Crisis Management programs in the fields of Mining, Law, IT, Manufacturing, Retail, Aviation and Higher Education, Felicity is now directing those skills at the Resources industry to create a unique product offering for our clients. Felicity is a personable, professional, and experienced operator, with an acute ability to anticipate and solve issues for clients before they arise.

Katie Patten

Katie is a seasoned Human Resources (HR) professional with extensive experience in the mining and metals industry. Katie excels in partnering with senior leaders to align people strategies with business objectives in operational and corporate environments.

She is passionate about developing HR programs that foster a high-performance culture, employee engagement and effective risk management. Katie’s technical capability is complimented by her strong stakeholder management skills and authentic leadership style.

Adam Collie

Adam is a highly skilled corporate finance professional with over 15 years experience across diverse industries including mining, construction, manufacturing, IT, fintech, agriculture, government, and defence.

He specialises in financial modelling and audit, investment project management, mergers & acquisitions, and transaction due diligence. 

Adam is fluent in Spanish and has successfully led and executed complex projects in Australia, Asia and South America. With a proven ability to drive financial strategy and project success, Adam’s work has consistently contributed to value creation for organisations ranging from private equity funds to multinational corporations.

Alice Grounds

Alice brings over 10 years of project management experience, spanning IT project delivery, operational improvement, and cross-functional coordination. Throughout her career, she has developed a strong track record of leading complex initiatives with structure, clarity, and a focus on results.

Alice spent part of her career working for a “big 3” global Management Consulting firm, where she worked closely with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders to address high-value business challenges. 

Known for her organisation, reliability, and calm approach under pressure, Alice excels at bridging technical and non-technical teams to keep projects moving and aligned. With a passion for helping organisations work smarter and achieve stronger outcomes, Alice brings practical leadership, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to delivering meaningful results in every engagement.

Amber Knox

Amber is a skilled and effective projects & financial analyst with proven abilities in project administration, scheduling & reporting, analysis, finance, content & collateral development and systems transformation activity execution. Armed with analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, advanced PowerPoint and Excel capabilities as well as significant exposure across multiple ERP systems, Amber is adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are well-executed, and that change is managed effectively. She is also indisputable delight to have as part of any team.

Amy van Stekelenburg

Amy is an expert in systems implementation, project management, process optimisation, data analysis, change management & stakeholder engagement. 

Drawing on a diverse educational history across media & communications, law and finance, Amy has experience in a breadth of industries and technical proficiency in multiple systems & analytics tools. 

Amy has gained on-site experience in business optimisation and supply chain management in a distressed business. She drives the success of projects through operational efficiency and has a track record of success in large data projects, project management, automation, business integration, and technology transformation leadership.

Brendan Pretto

Brendan joins TUNDRA as Manager of Finance and Analytics, having cut his teeth at BHP over the last 14 years.

An operational mastermind, Brendan’s passion for and understanding of how to improve business performance through financial optimisation, labour efficiencies and productivity is key to his success and what makes him a valued member of the TUNDRA team.

 Focused on Financial Analysis and Improvement, Brendan’s fundamental skillset and approach to what he does is in creating value for clients by helping them realise the opportunities within their biggest assets – their people.

Carolina Curan Hernandez

With over 13 years of experience spanning banking, consulting, manufacturing, commercial real estate, and non-profits, Carolina brings deep expertise in strategy development and process optimisation. She takes a holistic approach to business transformation, ensuring teams, clients, and stakeholders remain at the heart of every initiative. Backed by postgraduate studies in Finance, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, and Management, she has honed strong leadership and change management capabilities, helping organisations navigate complexity and drive lasting impact.

Duncan Freeman

Duncan has joined TUNDRA from across the pond – both from his origins in South Africa and now his residency in New Zealand – bringing with him a unique combination of unparalleled financial modelling skills with extensive mining knowledge.

As a subcontractor to TUNDRA through Untamed Analytics, our partnership with Duncan allows us to provide world class financial modelling as part of our economic evaluation service offering to clients.

Working at boutique corporate finance firms in Johannesburg, to Ernst & Young and Bayerische Landesbank in London, Duncan’s private and multinational experience in project finance, deal modelling, budgeting toolsets, model auditing and review, is deep and varied.

Complementing Duncan’s technical finance skills, his deep experience in building business & project valuation models, cost models and life of operations valuation models across multiple commodities such as iron ore, gold, mineral sands, lithium and oil and gas creates a high impact, high value service offering to our clients.

Elise Mawson

Elise brings extensive experience in business leadership, strategic partnerships, and operational excellence, with a proven ability to drive market-disruptive initiatives, foster collaborative alliances, and lead high-performing teams across diverse industries.

Elise is a skilled negotiator and relationship manager, having spearheaded collaborative alliances with government institutions, non-profits, and industry stakeholders.

Her expertise spans mining, processing, operations, business development, marketing, finance, and strategy, with a focus on driving sustainable business outcomes and fostering innovation.

Emily Felton

With a diverse background and career in B2B marketing, project management and higher education, Emily applies her organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and track record of going above and beyond for clients in the capacity of PMO and Systems Implementation Specialist for TUNDRA. Emily has gained deep on-site mining experience operating on a significant structural remediation project for a globally diversified mining company. She fundamentally contributes to the success of the projects through precise, dynamic scheduling, efficient acquisition & utilisation of resources and extensive systems design & testing skills. Her enthusiasm and aptitude for leveraging ERP, HRIS, payroll and project management systems, tools & applications create tangible value in a results-driven team.

She has led successful global finance system implementations, demonstrating her proficiency as both a process specialist and a team leader.

Jacques du Preez

James, a Chartered Accountant, joins Tundra with over 3 years’ experience at Deloitte working with large Government Entities. 

Having worked in Finance Assurance, James has a passion for Management reporting and Budgeting and its processes. Enthusiastic about delivering financial and qualitative insights and working with large data, James enjoys collaborating with both team members and clients to add value and look for opportunities in these areas.

Jamieson Mulready

A diligent analyst with an inquisitive mind and an abundance of energy, Jamieson is our resident data analyst, coder, developer and strategy & process optimisation specialist. Jamieson deploys his passion for big yellow machines together with his exceptional modelling and data analysis skills to create great value for clients, particularly in the mobile equipment strategy optimisation space. His positive attitude, collaboration skills and co-investment in his clients’ success make him a formidable business partner. Jamieson honed his skills internationally through roles in cyber security analytics, marketing and retail management.

Jason O’Neill

Jason is an exceedingly capable internal auditor, financial analyst and data analytics guru with expert-level skills across the suite of Microsoft Office applications. A CPA candidate, Jason consistently provides tremendous value to clients for whom he has been an imbedded resource. He is known for conducting thorough and well-designed audits & forensic investigations, proactive creation of financial models & analytical tools and his demonstration of true business partnership. Jason has international accounting experience and ERP skills across SAP, Oracle and Great Plains.

He has demonstrated his wealth of personal & operational experience, influencing abilities and problem-solving skills through leadership of large teams and projects at several major mining and processing facilities within Australia.

Min Mead

Min is a highly versatile professional with a strong track record in the implementation of new software and systems, risk management, legal analysis, and continuous improvement. With a unique background spanning law, mining, and environmental approvals, she brings a sharp analytical mindset and a practical approach to complex operational challenges.

Min has successfully led the rollout of cloud-based property management platforms, asbestos and learning management systems, and site access technologies; delivering measurable improvements in compliance, efficiency, and user experience. 

Her legal training enhances her ability to navigate regulatory frameworks and stakeholder engagement with precision, while her leadership in technical studies and project approvals demonstrates her capability to drive high-impact outcomes across multidisciplinary teams.

Ned Jeffery

Ned brings extensive expertise in economics, finance, and business management to his role at TUNDRA, combined with a deep operational understanding of supply chain management, manufacturing and agriculture.

With degrees in economics and finance, as well as an MBA from Melbourne Business School, Ned holds over 15 years of executive experience with a strong track record as both a business owner and corporate leader.

Ned is a practical, transparent and solutions-oriented operator, with a focus on data driven outcomes.

Steven Uebergang

Steven is a results-oriented Mechanical Engineer with over 20 years of experience driving maintenance excellence and project delivery across the mining and processing industries. 

With a strong foundation in pyro-metallurgical operations, including smelting, acid and oxygen plants, and site services, he has led large-scale teams and complex shutdowns while achieving record-breaking plant availability and significant safety improvements. 

Steven brings a collaborative leadership style, an understanding of statutory maintenance, and a continuous improvement mindset that empowers teams and optimises performance. His strategic and hands-on approach, backed by engineering expertise and operational insight, enables him to consistently deliver cost-effective, high-impact outcomes in complex operating environments.
