Meet our founder

Laura Jeffery is a former Canuck turned Australian, who started her career deep in the arctic tundra at BHP’s Ekati diamond mine over fifteen years ago. It was here that Laura kick started her career in the mining industry and met her future husband, Scott – a Geotechnical Engineer and 5th generation Australian sheep and cattle farmer. Over time Laura carved out a diverse career in the industry across multiple operations and corporate teams including roles in Finance, Capital Projects, HR, Systems Transformation and Maintenance Operations.

Fast forward a few years and Laura and Scott found themselves with two small children living in regional Victoria close to the generational family farm. The culmination of her diverse experience, regional location, desire for flexibility to raise children while delivering meaningful work for clients in the mining industry became the springboard for launching TUNDRA Resource Analytics.

Through TUNDRA Laura pioneered the Equipment Strategy Optimisation process; a series of tools bespoke to each mining operation, designed to perform scenario analysis aimed at pinpointing the most economical time to maintain and replace major mining equipment. The process has not only identified millions of dollars of cost savings for clients but revealed logical pathways to decarbonisation.

TUNDRA expanded beyond this initial offering to become a vehicle for her team of talented individuals with deep industry experience to drive prosperity for clients through improvement & transformation, transactions & business development, financial modelling & analysis and marketing & communications. The TUNDRA team have contributed to some of the most significant projects and transactions in the mining industry over the last five years.

As a self-confessed “doer” and believer of “getting s*^t done”, Laura has surrounded herself with a team of highly specialised, diverse consultants who take TUNDRA’s offering to all corners of the country and across the world.

Laura is a qualified accountant (CPA) and company director (GAICD). She is actively applying her governance expertise in the capacity of Non-Executive Director and Chair (Finance, Risk & Audit) for a rural hospital, aged care and allied health facility and previously served four years as Non-Executive Director of the peak national body of an early childhood non-profit organisation. To add more strings to her bow, Laura is a wife, mother to Charlotte & Beau, dog mum to Hanna & Schelby and navigator of the vintage ex-Greyhound Silver Eagle coach-turned TUNDRA mobile office.
