From the Arctic Tundra to Australia’s Mining Frontier

Hi, I'm Laura,

I began my career more than fifteen years ago in the Arctic Circle at BHP’s Ekati diamond mine — an incredible place to kickstart a life in mining. It’s also where I met my husband, Scott: a Geotechnical Engineer and fifth-generation Australian sheep and cattle farmer.

Over the years, I built a diverse career across multiple operations and corporate teams, taking on roles in Finance, Capital Projects, HR, Systems Transformation and Maintenance Operations. Eventually, Scott and I found ourselves back in regional Victoria with two young children, close to the family farm. I wanted flexibility to raise my kids while still doing meaningful work for an industry I love — and that became the spark for TUNDRA Resource Analytics.

Through TUNDRA, I developed the Equipment Strategy Optimisation process — a tailored approach that helps mining operations model the most economical time to maintain or replace major equipment. It’s uncovered millions in savings for clients and revealed practical pathways to decarbonisation.

What started as a specialised offering has grown into a broader platform for a team of talented, deeply experienced professionals. Today, TUNDRA delivers impact across improvement and transformation, transactions and business development, financial modelling and analysis, and marketing and communications. Our team has supported some of the most significant projects and transactions in the mining industry in recent years.

I’m a self-confessed doer who believes in “getting s*^t done”, and I’ve surrounded myself with people who operate the same way — specialists who take TUNDRA’s work across Australia and around the world.

I’m also a qualified accountant (CPA) and company director (GAICD), and I actively apply my governance experience as a Non-Executive Director and Chair in the health and community sectors. Outside of work, I’m a wife, mum to Charlotte and Beau, dog mum to Hanna and Schelby, and driver of the iconic vintage ex-Greyhound Silver Eagle coach that doubles as the TUNDRA mobile office.
