At TUNDRA, we have a real mix of personal passions and pursuits outside of work, and we celebrate this…in fact, we encourage it! Whether it’s a side hustle, a passion project or simply other avenues our team seek inspiration from, all these experiences help shape our thinking and application to client challenges.
To kick off What’s Inspiring Us this quarter, we draw your attention to the TUNDRA mobile office – a 1983 Silver Eagle Model 10, Greyhound-Stateliner bus.
Recently, this blue-bottomed lady was seen travelling the 3,000km across the Nullarbor to get a handful of our TUNDRA team to Diggers and Dealers in Kalgoorlie. Not only did she earn her stripes as yet another reliable TUNDRA teammate, getting precious cargo to and from Kalgoorlie without a hitch, she proved quite the conversation stater at Diggers and in the campground (along with our pink TUNDRA work shirts).
A few of us slept aboard the bus, worked from her, parked her in the eyeline of clients – existing and new – plus, we welcomed many visitors onboard during the 3 days who just wanted to “see for themselves”.
It was just another example of how TUNDRA likes to do things a bit differently. We always say that we’re not your standard consultants, and if this bus proves anything, it’s that we are anything but!

About the Eagle:
– The first Eagle coach was built in 1956 for Continental Trailways in Texas, USA.
– TUNDRA’s own Eagle is 40 ft long!
– In 1958, the Silver Eagle introduced a more conventional body design, better suited to long-distance line-haul work.
– Introduced in 1980, the Model 10 went on to serve operators across global markets, including Australia, with 2,217 coaches built between 1980 and 1987.
Fleet 1053 in Service:
Built in October 1983 by Trailways Manufacturing in Harlingen, Texas, Fleet 1053 entered service with Greyhound SA (Stateliner) in Australia. It was one of only five Eagle Model 10 coaches operated by the company, numbered 1051 to 1055, making it a rare example of this iconic Australian fleet.
